Just a thin layer so far, barely even covering the green grass. Half an inch maybe? Enough to lighten Angelica's mood though. The sun was shining. There was snow, and she had a free period. Well, she had taken herself one anyway. They were only going through the things they'd already learned anyway, having just started after the winter break. And it was the last lesson for the day. And it was such a nice weather. And there was snow! They couldn't honestly expect her to sit inside repeating spells, could they?
Her hands were starting to turn cold already. She'd forgotten her gloves inside again (and her scarf and cap), but that was the beauty with living without your parents. You could do practically whatever you wanted to. Of course there were still professors and staff, and the occasional rules to follow, but to her, it felt like the sky was the limit! There was no one to tell her what to do in her free time. No one to tell her what she should or shouldn't do. When to go to bed and when to study. And there was no one to reprimand her for skipping classes. Her parents would probably never even know!
Her feet left deep traces of mud behind her as she half-ran half-walked across the courtyard. No goal. No intentions. Not yet. She was just happy to be out in all the white (with the wind blowing in a way that made it impossible to tell whether it was still snowing), considering how rainy New Years Eve had been. She very quickly got restless though. This was no fun. Just walking aimlessly in an open space. Surely, there must be a better way to enjoy the weather? Perhaps... She bent down and closed her hand around a small pile of snow. Yes, it was indeed hugsnow.
With her eyes gleaming with mischief, and a small smile playing on her lips, she scanned the area for people, someone to play with. There was a group of seven years secretly having a smoke, a young girl trying to build a snowman, a couple of boys trading chocolate frog cards... The school yard actually seemed rather crowdy. Selecting her target, she quickly hurled the snowball away at an unsuspecting victim.
