Ceridwen sighed as she stepped into the front hall of the majestic castle, drenched to the bone from the rain that was pouring down outside. She didn't mind the rain itself; it was the cold that came along with being wet that had her slightly irked on what had been a decent day otherwise. She'd already finished her classes for the day, having just come from the Herbology greenhouses. Not one of her favorites but it was definitely easy, and being as she wanted to be a magizoologist, it also had it's uses. It was just a small stepping stone on her way to working with dragons. There was just something about the huge creatures that was incredible and exciting, and perhaps a bit reckless as well. But who could blame her? She was still a young girl, only seventeen; it was normal to want a bit of adventure.
Of course, already being matched might put a bit of a damper on that dream of hers. Ceridwen only knew vaguely who Damon Drakos was, and that was only because he played on Ravenclaw's Quidditch team. Other than that, he might as well have been a muggle. Granted, she really wouldn't mind if he was a muggle-born; she wasn't one of those type of people. It was the principle of being matched during her school years that threw her off completely. Not only was he a year younger than she was, which meant that he'd still be at Hogwarts after she graduated, but who knew what else could complicate any possible "relationship" they might have. They could be completely incompatible, for Merlin's sake! Perhaps it was only the fact that there was still so much unknown about him, so many variables that could affect her life, that made her so worried about this whole match business. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
Doing her best to think positive, Ceri used her wand to dry herself with a spell her mum had taught her long ago. She wasn't particularly amazing with self-help spells, but it did the trick enough so that she wasn't leaving puddles with every step that she took. A low rumble stumbled in her stomach reminded her that she was hungry, very hungry. Luckily, the Great Hall wasn't that far away...
