ed westwick, penn badgley, seventeen, seventh years, trio of best friends
introducing the free most freakin' awesome friends ever to walk the halls of hogwarts! matthew davis and his two best friends, who can be named whatever you wish by you, are one of those inseparable friendships. this group met on the train on their way to hogwarts, stuffed into the same compartment for the long journey, and have never regretted it. they're wide spread across every social standing and environment-wise have pretty much nothing in common, but their personalities just... click. it's a well-known fact around the school that if you mess with one of them, you mess with them all. they're practically brothers.
matthew davis, my character, is a gryffindor seventh year (all three are seventh years). an only child and a pureblood, this guy has gotten pretty much everything he wants his entire life, and sometimes can be a bit difficult to deal with because he acts and speaks before he thinks. he generally means well, though, and his two besties do a good job of keep him grounded. he's more of the leader of the group simply because he doesn't like to follow. when he gets an idea in his head he wants to follow that idea, regardless of consequences much of the time. his plans and actions have gotten the three into a few detentions throughout the years, but you've got to live a little, right?
the middle guy, played by ed westwick, has no name until you adopt him, so for the purpose of this ad we shall just call him ed. ed's a muggleborn, so having matthew and penn around through his transition into the wizarding world has helped him a lot. he has twin older sisters, but no brothers which makes him the only boy in his family, where matt and penn have filled in the brotherly sort of roles. he is the only wizard in his family, and they are very poor. like so poor that in the summers ed shares a small bedroom with his sisters, or at least did until they left the house, one attempting university on scholarships and the other taking a waitressing job until she can figure out her life. matt's parents adore ed, but kind of in that 'he's so different from us and not as privliged... we need to pity him!' way. they're always telling matt to invite him along on many family summer vacations, which matt does, but ed politely declines most of the time because he doesn't want to make his family feel awkward. as far as the trio goes, they try not to make ed feel too... strange, but the differences in their upbringings are pretty obvious sometimes. out of the three ed is the more logical one, but he usually ends up going along with his buddies think of doing anyway.
and then there's penn. penn rounds off the trio in every area. he's half-blood, middle-class, and has seven little siblings. yep. seven. twelve year old triplets (a boy and two girls), an ten year old sister, seven year old identical twin boys, and a five year old brother. his father died four years ago in a dragon-taming accident, so as the eldest he's taken on a lot of responsibilities in the summers. hogwarts and his time with ed and matt are his opportunities to relax. there have been rumors drifting around the school that penn might be just as much inclined to the men as he is to the ladies, but it's a school and rumors are just rumors... right? whatever the reason, from the moment these rumors reached matt's parents ears they have have shown a definite preference to ed's friendship with matt over penn's, even when rumors began to spread around that ed was the same way. whatever, that made no difference to the boys.
so, what else can there be to say... all three of these boys have been lucky in that none have been matched yet. they've enjoyed a fun lifestyle of dating and girls and just regular teenageness. they've got a solid friendship going on and generally know everything about each other. um... probably mentioned this before, but all three are seventeen and in their seventh year as well. oh, and that little bit about ed/penn being gay/bi could be true or false. after all, like said, it is a school and there are rumors spread around every day. ^^ and... i think that's all i have to say.
