Lucas opened the letter Cupid had sent earlier that week. Friday, three o'clock, and a girl named Lizzie Brooks. Lucas didn't remember if ever heard of the girl before. Hogwarts was filled with beautiful girls so he must have passed by her during his six years here. What did she look like? Was she tall or short? What House did she reside in? Blonde, brunette, redhead, or black hair? Questions were swimming all over his mind. Lucas finished dressing himself and grabbed the small bouquet of white lilies he had picked out.
This girl better be worth dressing up for. If she isn't there within the first fifteen minutes, I'm leaving. I won't even enter the room so I won't be bound to stay there for a full hour. Lucas thought, making his way out of the Gryffindor boys dormitory.
Lucas strolled down the familiar corridors, the bouquet of lilies moving with his step. Lucas smiled and winked at the ladies who passed by him. He would always be a player, even if Cupid had decided this match was going to be it for him. What did Cupid know anyway? He just controlled the love life of a person, not the person themselves.
Lucas finally reached the entrance of Cupid's Hall. He saw some students fiddling around. He saw a few ladies he snogged and nodded at them. He saw students going in, sealing their hour behind whatever door they had entered. He saw a few girls he didn't know waiting by a door. He made his way to the door marked 103. No one was there waiting outside. He wouldn't dare go in yet. What if this girl didn't show and left him in the room for a full bloody hour by himself.
Lucas waited outside the door and checked his watch.
2:47. This Lizzie Brooks better be here soon so this can be over with already. The other girls of Hogwarts are dying for some of my attention. If she isn't here by 3:15, I'll go and give Cupid a lesson myself.

Lizzie has never been more distraught in her entire seventeen years of life. This week had brought with it a string of disastrous events, and she wasn’t sure if her nerves could take anymore stress. It had all begun with an owl, that dreaded, dastardly owl that swooped into her dorm room and dropped off a letter, the one she had been trying to avoid ever since she reached the proper age. She had finally been singled out by Cupid and paired up with someone. There was no greater torture for the uptight young witch than being forced to be alone in a room with a wizard for an entire hour. Even worse, Lizzie wasn’t entirely sure what was supposed to happen after that. Would she have to spend even more time with him after that meeting or could she get away with avoiding him for the rest of her life? These were just the thoughts that moved through her mind before she even opened the letter.
Then, as she unfolded it, her hands shaking despite her best efforts to remain calm, another blow to her already deficient ego happened. Not only had she been paired, but it was with Lucas Thomson?!?! Lizzie could not think of a worse situation for her to be in, she would almost rather be with a Slytherin than Lucas. Lucas was well known amongst the witches of Hogwarts as being a player, always moving from girl to girl and not caring a thing for their feelings. He wasn't the type to settle down at all, let alone with a girl like Lizzie who wasn’t the least bit interested in being in a relationship herself. Without even knowing him, she knew they would have nothing in common, how could they possibly? It was enough to make her want to run away, not that it was an option. Cupid didn’t take kindly to people that defied him, and Lizzie had never broken a rule in her life, she was stuck.
Then there was the whole dress issue, another first for the sheltered Ravenclaw. She had never had occasion to wear a dress, and had no idea how to go about picking one out. What was the point when robes and pants were much more comfortable, she just didn’t feel right wearing a dress. After several agonizing hours consulting other girls in her house and walking aimlessly around a dress shop, she finally settled on a short, sleeveless black dress, plain and practical just like she was. She wore her hair down, seeing as how she really didn’t know how to put it up anyway, then set off through the castle towards Cupid’s Hall. Her heart was pounding wildly against her sternum and her feet wanted to go the opposite direction, but she kept walking until she finally reached her destination.
It was 5 till 3:00, and Lucas was standing outside of the door, looking as handsome and full of himself as always, and Lizzie found that she was filled with a new resolve at seeing his smug face. She was the better person here, and if this went bad she wasn’t about to let him make her feel badly about herself. She swallowed, then stepped forward to greet her complete opposite in nearly every way. “Lucas is it? I don’t think we have ever officially met, I’m Lizzie Brooks. I guess we should…. Go inside” she stated, her voice trailing off as she glanced at the door and became filled once again with that feeling of dread at being alone with Lucas Thomson.

How much longer must I wait for this girl?! I'm getting impatient and I don't even know if the girl is pretty! Lucas thought as he waited for Lizzie Brooks.
Lucas made sure he was in order. Suit, check. Tie straightened, check. Lilies for Lizzie, check. Condom in his back pocket, check. Everything was in order, as usual. Lucas hoped the condom would be used during this meeting his match. He prayed this room had a bed inside like some rooms were rumored to have. If not, there was always a couch he could make due with. Now all he needed was for Lizzie to show up and their hour would begin.
Footsteps caught his attention and he looked for the person responsible for creating them. He saw a girl in a sleeveless, black dress coming his way. Lucas smiled as she got closer and stood right before him. She was beautiful. Her brown hair cascaded down her shoulders like a waterfall. Her dress was simple, yet elegant. He admired the curves that the dress showed. She didn't have a curvy body, but her curves supported the fact she was a blossoming woman. He looked up at her face when she introduced herself as Lizzie Brooks. The Lizzie Brooks he had been matched with.
She is quite a beauty. Let's hope this hour goes exactly how I hope. he thought happily.
"Hello, Miss Lizzie Brooks. Yes, I'm Lucas Thomson. I have been waiting for you so that we may enter the room together. I hope this hour is pleasurable for the both of us." Lucas answered her kindly.
He moved aside and opened the door to room 103. He gestured his hand in front of him.
"Ladies first. he said gentlemanly.

Lizzie paused a safe distance from Lucas, her emotions a confused jumble of loathing, nervousness, and anticipation. Despite the fact that she knew his reputation, knew that he wasn’t interested in anything that wasn’t purely physical, it was hard not to notice how attractive he was. And the fact that she noticed his perfectly chilseled body and rugged features managed to piss her off even more about being stuck in this situation. Dammit Lizzie, pull yourself together, he is not cute and this is not going to be good for you, so just get it over with and move on with your life she thought to herself sternly.
Lizzie also didn’t miss the fact that his eyes swept over her body before landing back up on her face, and even though most of her was horrified, a small part of her actually liked it. It was a rare thing for her to be noticed as being female by wizards, and it kind of felt nice to know she wasn’t completely hideous. She smoothed down the sides of her dress nervously as Lucas greeted her, sounding for all purposes like a complete gentleman, though she knew this was not the case. She thought she heard a small inflection placed on the word pleasurable, and narrowed her eyes as she regarding him, wondering what exactly he was insinuating.
Her heart started pounding wildly again when Lucas opened the door and gestured for her to enter, and Lizzie double checked that she had her wand within easy reach just in case. For some reason she felt like a gazelle walking into a lion’s den, and wanted to be prepared for the worst. Lizzie stepped in slowly, trying to not make eye contact with Lucas as her eyes roamed the room. It was set up with a table and chairs, and a sofa, but thankfully no bed so hopefully that would discourage him from pulling his usual game, or at least what she had heard was his usual game.
Lizzie stopped in the middle of the room, unsure about where to sit or what to do really. The only times she had ever been alone with a guy was when studying for a test, and she kind of doubted that Lucas was going to want to talk about school or do any studying. She gazed up at him in what she hoped was a look that said she couldn’t be taken advantage of, but most likely just looked like a deer caught in headlights. “So? Are those for me?” she asked, gesturing to the lilies and hoping to keep up some converstation between them to keep herself from getting even more nervous.

Lucas watched Lizzie enter the room. He got a better view of her backside as he followed her inside. It was decent enough for him. He shut the door behind him, sealing his and Lizzie's fate for one whole hour. He looked around the room. There wasn't much to look at. A table with two chairs, a couch, and a fireplace. There was no second door leading to a bedroom.
Damn it! No bedroom... Oh well, there's a couch I could use. Hope she doesn't mind. Then again, she doesn't seem to be like that type of girl. Oh well, I can still manage to get her to do something. he thought.
He watched her look around the room. She looked nervous and uncomfortable. He wondered if she had ever been with a guy alone. Hell, had she even been with anyone alone? He thought she may not use to being noticed. Then again, her name barely rang any bells in his head. Maybe from classes, but he never knew this young woman on a personal level. They were two separate types of people; it didn't take long for him to figure it out. He saw her actions and knew she wasn't as outgoing or talkative as any other girl he had been with.
"So? Are those for me?" he heard her say, meaning the bouquet of lilies he had brought(more like forced) with him. He smiled and held them out between the two.
"They are indeed, Lizzie. I thought roses would be too cliche so I went with some white lilies. White because of newness and purity. I hope you aren't allergic to flowers because I'd feel awful. Cupid tends to only mention name and meeting places when he does these matches. It would help if we knew more about the other before meeting. Then again, the match is about getting to know one another. Shall we sit at the table or the sofa?" he said kindly.

Lizzie got the unnerving feeling that she was being watched as she entered the room, and she glanced back over her shoulder a few times, shooting skeptical glances at Lucas as she tried to figure him out. Lizzie was the worst person in the whole world at reading other people, she often got herself into trouble by misinterpreting the intentions of others and sticking her foot in her mouth. Another in the long list of reasons she normally avoided interacting with anyone outside of her own house, at least her housemates [style=][/style]were usually willing to overlook her strange behavior. Problem with Lucas was, although she knew his reputation well, and honestly even she should be able to tell what his intentions were, she still didn’t get any weird vibes from him.
Lucas came across as a perfect gentleman, he was polite and nice by all outward appearances, but she knew there must be more to it or else he wouldn’t have gotten that reputation in the first place. When Lizzie stopped to face him and asked him about the lilies, Lucas glanced down at them as if he were just remembering he were holding them, though he regained his composure fairly quickly. He said they were for her, and then went on to explain why he had chosen lilies as the flower he wanted to bring. It was sweet, in an odd way, and a small smile formed on Lizzie’s face as she hesitantly reached out for them. When he asked if she were allergic, Lizzie’s hand paused in mid-air and she fixed him with a surreal kind of look. Was he for real? What kind of guy thought of things like that, most were not so attune to people other than themselves.
“Well… that was thoughtful of you to check with me, but no not that I’m aware” she answered, a slight note of skepticism in her voice, though it was evident on her face that she was pleased. Lizzie held the lilies up and inhaled deeply, enjoying their sweet fragrance for a moment as Lucas asked where she would like to sit so they could get to know each other. This was again another first for Lizzie, she wasn’t the kind of girl that guys sought out and wanted to “get to know.” She glanced back and forth between the couch and table, and though the sofa looked more comfortable she thought the table would be a safer bet. “How about the table” she answered, moving over towards it and setting her lilies in an empty vase before pushing them over to the side so they would be able to talk over the table.

Lucas smiled when Lizzie had said she wasn't allergic to the lilies he had brought for her. He didn't want to deal with that while they were sealed in here for an hour. He watched take the flowers and sniff them, inhaling the scent of them. He smiled, pleased that she liked the lilies. He watched her shift her gaze between the couch and the table. He hoped that the couch would be the winner. He heard her mutter about the table and he lost hope.
"All right. I don't mind sitting at the table." Lucas said and made his way over.
Being a good boy, he pulled out one of the chairs for Lizzie and took a seat in the other chair. He noticed that the lilies had been moved to the side. Maybe she wanted to gaze at him even more. He smirked and got relaxed in his chair. He noticed that there was a small dish on the table. It held candy of some kind. He saw that they were jelly beans, but they were most likely Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. He didn't want to know what flavors were in that.
So far, this "date" wasn't going to bad. She was quiet, which made the "date" feel longer than it actually was. Why was he stuck with a quiet girl? Couldn't she at least babble or do something? Maybe if he stroke up a conversation about school, she would open up more than what she was doing right now. Lucas could understand if she was nervous, but some form of talking had to take place.
"So, what electives do you take here at Hogwarts? I take Care of Magical Creatures and Divination." he asked, hoping it would lead to something.

Lizzie paused as she was reaching for her chair, taken by surprise when Lucas stepped forward and pulled it out for her. She hesitated before sitting down, studying his expression to see if she caught any glimpse that he wasn’t being genuine. I mean come on, what guy does this?! She thought to herself, crossing her arms as she slowly sank down into the proffered chair. She was really going to have to be on her game with this one, because no matter how sweet he seemed, she was definitely not going to let him take advantage of her.
She casually put her arms up on the table, but in doing so bumped the vase of lilies and just managed to catch it before it crashed to the floor, and set it back up again. She looked up at Lucas sheepily, biting her lower lip as she waited for the teasing to start. This always happened to her, she held it together for a little while, then did something completely clumsy or awkward and her confidence would fall through the floor. Now she was going to have to fight off the nerves with everything she had, because she really, really didn’t want to seem like a spaz in front of Lucas.
She cleared her throat as Lucas seemed to be distracted by the jelly beans on the table, and ran a hand through her hair to calm herself. Merlin, why was she such an idiot when it came to boys? Finally, he spoke up again, asking her what electives she was taking and listing off his. She smiled brightly at this, pleased because she had always felt you could tell a lot about someone from the subjects they chose to take, or the ones they liked best. Those two made Lucas come across as being slightly unserious about his schooling, but at least he liked animals which Lizzie thought was sweet.
“Oh? That’s nice, which class is your favorite? I am taking Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, and Herbology for my electives, I love them all so much! I already tested out of Care of Magical Creatures because I did so much extra credit…” Lizzie started to prattle off a twinkle in her eyes as she started talking about her favorite thing in the world, school.

After Lucas mentioned school, he noticed that Lizzie brightened up. Of course the quiet Ravenclaw girl would open up when he mentioned school. It seemed all the Ravenclaws were like that. What else could open a Ravenclaw up? Lucas listened to her babble on about classes. At least Lizzie opened up now. She did a complete one hundred and eighty degrees.
"My favorite class would have to be Transfiguration. I'm very interested in it. I like my other classes, don't get me wrong, but Transfiguration is the only class that keeps me wanting more. This year we get to human transfiguration and I can't wait to do that. Lucas told her.
He really wanted to impress Lizzie. She was vastly different from the other girls he had been with. She didn't fall for his charm, she didn't giggle every time he opened his mouth, she just wasn't the typical Hogwarts girl he had been with. She was the opposite of every girl he had been with. Yet, he was attracted to her. Lucas saw that Lizzie was a very confident young woman.
"Well, let's move off of the topic of school. What about your home life? Do you have any brothers or sisters? What do you usually do over summer break? I'd like to know more about you, Lizzie. You're...different than any other girl I've met." Lucas told her.
He did want to know more about her beside all the stuff she did in school. He wouldn't mind the school stuff, but there was stuff outside of school. He wondered if she did fun stuff when school wasn't in session. Then again, she seemed like the type who would get her school books for the next year and get a head start on them. Maybe he could show her to have some fun that didn't involve books.

A smile brightened Lizzie’s normally very serious demeanor when Lucas admitted to Transfiguration being his favorite class. It was a perfect choice really, a subject that was both complex and difficult, but full of so many possibilities. Transfiguration was always a class that held her attention as well, and she supposed if she had thought about it before she would have known he would pick it, it suited him quite well. “It is one of my favorites as well, I know, I can’t wait until we start human transfiguration it is going to be so much fun!” she replied, still smiling as she leaned over the table, closer to him in her excitement.
It was hard to get past the fact that Lucas was so incredibly gorgeous, and Lizzie found that it was hard to actually look away from him, especially with him being so close to her. His face reminded her of a Greek Statue, it was perfectly chiseled, as if he were made of the purest marble. And his eyes were so blue that she could stare into them for hours and never get tired of their beauty. And the strange thing was that as soon as she had these thoughts, she wondered what in the world had gotten into her, she could care less what someone looked like, looks didn’t impress her in any way. But it almost seemed like there was more to it as well, she knew that there was a lot more beneath the surface, if she could only get him to show it to her.
As those thoughts swam through her mind, Lucas spoke again, changing the subject and asking about her family and what she did outside of school. Lizzie bit her lower lip as she tried to think of a good way to answer this, because the truth was she didn’t really do much of anything. "Um, well I am an only child and my parents had me when they were older so we really don't do much as a family. They are both really busy with work, they have some sort of top secret jobs at the Ministry, so when I'm home they pretty much ignore me and I keep busy reading and stuff. I know it sounds pretty boring, but once I graduate I am hoping I can do whatever I want and sort of... fugure out what I like to do I guess" she replied, hoping she made sense and that he wouldnt think she was completely lame.
