The sun was brightly shinning even for the month of October. No one could manage not being outside, it was just amazing, well, other than the cold wind, but by the people all around, it seemed that was not a problem. Katherine was one of those people. She was one to enjoy being outside, in the fresh air, surrounded by mother nature and her glory. The blonde grabbed her Falmouth Falcons’ sweatshirt and dashed out of the common room with her roommates. They all ran down the stairs trying to avoid anyone going in the opposite direction. They all made it down safe and sound with Katherine in the lead.
Normally they would have a bet prier to the race, but the girls ended up without any injuries and laughing their heads off. “Did you see their faces?” Katherine giggled when they all exited the castle. It was normal for the girl to be silly with her friends, it was the only time she got to act out and just go with the flow before going back to class or heading back home, which most of the time she would dread.
The girls continued to walk through the grounds. Katherine listened to their stories and laughed with them or gave them sympathy when needed. After all of that someone promoted a race once more. Each one of course would not deny a challenge and so it began. They raced around the lake until Katherine went crashing to the ground. The blonde was never a careful one, she was a bit reckless which gave reason for the many bruises and scars on her body. Now an aching ankle would be added to it.
She groaned when her friends ran over and began to worry. They didn’t stop until Katherine was standing up and hand to slap one of them. “I’m fine you guys, don’t worry.” The girls looked at one another and Katherine sighed in defeat. “Fine I’m going.” She rolled her eyes and made her way back to the castle. Up the stairs and through the halls Katherine was soon enough sitting on a hospital bed her ankle wrapped in bandages and a nasty potion waiting to be drunken. “Bloody hell, not that stuff again.” Her sad eyes looked at the nurse, but there was no choice, it had to be consumed. Ten minutes later she was having a stare down with it, obviously avoiding to have to swallow the concoction.

Tersha wasn't happy. She had been doing a bit of extra credit Potions work with a few other students down in the dungeons, when one of the stupid Slytherin boys had decided it would be funny to poke her in the ribs and make her jump as he passed by on his way to the storage cupboard. Normally she would have turned around and gave him a smack around the back of the head, but she had had a knife in her hand at the time, and it dug solidly into her palm, causing her to scream bloody murder all through the dungeons.
There was a lot of blood, but the Professor was quick, he had actually torn a piece of his shirt off to wrap around her hand, and personally escorted her to the Hospital Wing, quick sharp. Tersha hated the hospital wing. She supposed most people did, but her hatred wasn't born from fear, she just found it tedious having to sit and be coddled with nothing to do but look at other sick people. Like now, after having some sort of liquid dripped into the wound - the nurse told her it wouldn't scar - she was sat on a bed waiting to be bandaged up before she could leave.
The thing causing her wait, though, was the fact that a girl had stumbled in with an injured ankle, so the nurse had bustled off to see to her while she waited for Tersha's hand to start sealing over. Tersha recognized the girl, they were in the same house, and the name Katherine was leaping into her head when she looked at her. She couldn't recall them ever really interacting aside from maybe small, superficial comments in passing, maybe in lessons or at the Gryffindor table and such. Her dark eyes watched as the girl eyed a vial of something nasty she was supposed to drink. She was stalling like a pro, and Tersha smirked.
"The longer you put it off, the worse it's gonna be," she called over her shoulder, even though the girl was only two beds away from her. She turned slightly so she could see her better. She honestly wasn't envious of her position, Tersha, though bleeding quite a lot only minutes ago, was in a far easier position, the worst thing she had to put up with was the stinging in her palm. And that was manageable. She gave the girl a half-amused, half-sympathetic smile, secretly eager to see the expression on her face when she drank the potion down.
