Ana trailed her fingers lightly across the cold stone of the castle walls and let a small shiver run through her body. It was winter, what was she to expect, really? Tucking her hands around her waist to hold her hoodie a little closer to her, she heaved a sigh. Boredom had never settled well with Ana and she couldn't decide what to do. She had a couple of options really. She could run out to the pitch and hope that it was free, and then could bring out her broom and have a little fly around. Or, she could dig out the copy of her favourite book that she had and take that under a tree to read. No, it was too cold for that. She wouldn't be able to turn the pages when her hands turned to ice. The only thing Ana liked about winter was the snow. That was the most beautiful thing, and there wasn't any yet, which was a little disappointing, to be honest. The castle always looked beautiful under it's blanket of white. Her feet were taking her somewhere, she didn't even need to think about it.
Before Ana knew it, her feet were climbing one by one up the steps to the astronomy tower. It was a beautiful view there, granted. She'd have to do something to keep herself warm, though. In all honesty, magic wasn't good if it couldn't stop you from freezing. Up there though, she would always find other things to think about, other than how cold she was. She blew into her hands and rubbed them together as she stepped out into the cold air. Turning her head to absorb a lot more of the view, she chose her spot and sat herself down, dangling her legs over the edge and holding onto one of the metal posts of the rail. It was always so peaceful and quiet up there. It was one of the spots that she tended to come to when she couldn't sleep. It was kind of nice to see it in the day for once though, although nothing would beat being able to see all of the gorgeous stars light up the night. She couldn't bear to think of not being able to see this. Sure, having the chance to go to Hogwarts had distanced her from her parents, but they hadn't been that close to be honest anyway, and Magic was worth it. It was amazing to know that she could make things happen that were beyond her childhood dreams.
Ana knew though that she still had plenty to learn, and if she couldn't stop herself from focusing on Quidditch all the time, she wouldn't be able to learn all of them as well as she should. She could always research them later, but she didn't like the idea of hours spent inside the dusty stacks of the library. That would be time much rather spent with the wind in her hair, rather than an ancient book in her hands. She probably wouldn't take anything in from a book anyway. Ana was so lost in thought that she failed to hear someone else's feet on the stone steps leading to her current sanctuary, causing her to visibly jump when she heard a voice behind her. She immediately turned her head to see who had surprised her so well. "Who's there?"
