Terrance felt that this day was going to be a rough one. Since being informed of his match by Cupid, Terrance was completely in a state of shock and fright. A teacher was his match, Griselda Cockburn, the alchemy professor. Why on earth did he get matched with a teacher? Just how demented was Cupid anyways? Was it his life goal to make everyone miserable or frightened? Cupid must have some sick sense of humor to put something this terrible together. It wasn't like Terrance was entirely against the idea, but teachers just frightened him a great deal. His only reason for being involved in studies was to avoid being on the wrong side of the teachers, and now he was in a position to be on the wrong side of a teacher, all thanks to Cupid. Terrance wanted desperately to find Cupid and give him a swift kick in the rear.
The day that Terrance dreaded soon arrived, and he was not at all excited about the meeting. Some day very soon he was going to knock Cupid out. He had woken up that morning and felt somewhat calm, though, and that had surprised him. How could be be so calm about something like this? He was given a death sentence by Cupid! He sighed as he got out of bed, figuring to spend a bit of time just trying to maintain the calm attitude he had currently. It was only about two hours before the meeting that he got cleaned up and put on his best clothes. He was fortunate to have a flower ready as well, knowing that was more than necessary. About thirty minutes before hand he went to Cupid's Hall, looking to wait until about a minute before to show up. He sighed as he watched his watch strike a minute before the time and went to room 113, entering with the flower in hand.

Griselda was lost from the moment she had woken that morning to find her letter from cupid lying on her table. It stated that not only was her match that she was to be placed with a student, but also a fifth year boy who just happened to be living in what she had through out school considered her rival house Gryfindor. How was it that life never really liked to be nice to the young teacher for if it wasn't one thing it was another. Sighing as she looked out the little kitchen window of her cozy little cottage within Hogsmeade thinking about how this was even possible that she was to be paired by that stupid cupid with a student.
"However the case maybe there is obviously nothing I can do to change it..." After many years of figuring the elements of Alchemy and Potions Grissy knew all too well that there was never any way to fool or change the ways of cupid even if she wished there was. Pushing her hand through her hair Griselda once more sighed before looking back at the table where she had left the letter which stated who her match was. She knew the student somewhat knowing of some of his grades, his house, his year and finally a little about himself knowing that the boy seemed to be deathly afraid of teacher's for some strange reason.
"Well then cupid you have chosen a fraidy cat student for me to be paired with that in my age of twenty one makes me a cradle robber... your just loving your little humor aren't you?" Shaking her head once more Griselda finally went to get ready for work where later that night she would have to face her apparent destiny. Taking a quick shower Grissy continued to ponder her situation with her strange pairing before getting out, dressing, putting a suitable dress in her purse along with her books, notes for class and her paperwork for the potions book she was trying so hard to finish. When she was certain she had everything Griselda took one final look around the apartment before disapperating to the outskirts of Hogwarts.
As the day went by as usual the tiring misunderstandings of her students along with the piles of notes and slight homework she had to give out to them Griselda slowly started to dread the fact of her need to go meet up with her match that evening. It was bad enough she was going to be exhausted from her day at work, but she also had to go meet up with a student who was a good six years younger than herself. Finally though after she finished off her paperwork for the day Grissy couldn't deny it any longer that she would have to go to the fateful room 113 in just twenty minutes. Quickly dressing into the dress she'd packed that morning Griselda looked herself over grabbed her purse and headed to the hall.
When she arrived quite nervous at the factor of the meeting being with a student of her's Griselda took a few deep breath's before entering. As she saw her match Griselda froze for a moment before slowly stepping forward, "Excuse my lateness..." she said her voice simple and sweet trying not to scare the poor boy for she knew that would just make this little meeting even more awkward and tiresome.

"I-it's ok," he replied, the nervousness obvious by his tone of voice. Terrance had not been eager for this obviously. His whole life he had been just hoping to get through school and maybe just be an auror or something. He didn't want to get to know any of the teachers on the off chance that he got on the bad side of them, cause then they could be really vicious, or so he figured. His worst nightmare had been this exact scenario, though without Cupid being involved and the teacher being the problem in the situation. Cupid however, was the problem, and was a problem that Terrance wanted out, and he was already forming numerous plans as to how to deal with the little brat with wings and a bow and arrow set. Simply disable the wings then summon the bow and arrows to him, then hit Cupid with a hex of some kind. That would definitely do the trick.
Terrance took a breath to clear his mind, but soon found that he really didn't have anything to say. He wasn't really a big fan of that thought. His nervousness had kept him from saying anything at all! How was he supposed to get through this situation without being able to say anything? Was Cupid really this demented and twisted? Was this all for Cupid's humor? Cause if so, Cupid was really sick and twisted, putting Terrance through this and who knew who all else through similar situations. It was a living nightmare for anyone, and Terrance was indeed living it, unfortunately for him. It made him briefly think back to a muggle children's film he had seen once, a film that had mentioned unfortunate souls. That seemed to define him right now, and he'd rather not stay on that thought for very long.
Taking another breath, Terrance remembered the flower in his hand. He had gotten a single white rose, though that was more on a guess than anything. He had no idea what flower Professor Cockburn would have preferred. He hadn't actually had any reason to care before, obviously, so his only focus had been on the homework and the tests. Now, though, he kinda had to hope that his guess had been accurate, otherwise he ran the risk of having messed up and being on the wrong side of Cupid's intended match for him. "Um... here's the flower I was told to bring for you," he said nervously, holding the rose out for her. He really had it in for Cupid at this point. He was barely able to get that out, and he probably looked a bit like an idiot due to his nervousness as well. Word Count - 462

Griselda knew from the moment she had walked into the room that the situation was going to be an awkward one. When the boy spoke however her findings were that it was going to be even more of an awkward situation then she had expected. He was someone that Griselda had to admit she would have never pictured being paired with by Cupid, however she knew there was no use in wanting to try to pick a fight with Cupid for it would only be a waste of her precious time to even attempt to.
When he made the attempt to show her the flower he had brought her however the awkwardness came in not the fact of his way of trying to show her, but however in the fact that her cheeks almost turned a bright red with the flower he was handing to her. A white rose, the sign of purity and beauty or at least that was how Grissy herself pictured the flower. Carefully taking the flower her hand brushing Terrance's Griselda looked at the flower closer before taking a quick sniff. As a bright smile came acrossed her face Griselda couldn't help, but laugh carefully.
"A very pretty flower I shall admit..." she said trying to get a little conversation going. She knew that they would be stuck in this room for around an hour if she was correct, thus a little conversation never hurt, "Thank you Terrance... That's alright I call you by your first name right?" She said looking carefully at the boy. She didn't want to frighten him to much for she knew if she did he'd probably try climing the walls just to get out of the room and away from her. Not many students got along with the twenty one year old alchemy teacher mostly because she acted like she was better then them most days, when in fact it was just the slight irritation she got from them being so seemingly ignorant with her teachings.
"I know this seems awkward, trust me it is for me as well, but it seems Cupid loves to have a strange sense of humor don't you think?" Carefully a smile once more lit up the young woman's face as she tried to be peaceful and not make the encounter any more awkward.

It wasn't until her reaction to him giving her the flower he had brought that he finally started to relax. It wasn't too much, but he felt some of his nervousness start to fade away at that point. It didn't seem like it would be a moment where he'd get his head bitten off, at least for now. What kept the shyness there was also that he was just shy around girls in general, so that was probably going to be a bit tougher to dispense with. He knew, though, that there was really no real way to fight against Cupid at this point. He might want to give Cupid a swift kick, but what was the point of actually fighting him at this point? He heard her ask if she could call him by his first name and his answer was a bit of a simple one. "Yeah sure," he said with a less nervous smile. At least he was starting to get a hold on his nerves for the most part.
Terrance felt a little more at ease based on her observation. It matched his thoughts entirely. "Cupid comes across as having a twisted sense of humor to me, honestly. He probably knew that I'd rather avoid teachers, though he opted to match me with a teacher. I feel like giving him a swift kick in the rear, but at this point, not much point in arguing with him," he replied with a small chuckle at the start of his response, then ending with a sigh. He wasn't really eager to just resign himself to his fate, but there wasn't really anything else he could do, was there? Last he checked, Cupid's matches were more or less... permanent for the most part. It was all so stupid, but what could he do about it at this point? Whine about it? Well he could, but that didn't really get anything done. So he figured to just fight his nerves, hoping he wouldn't stay shy forever.
