∙ Tag;; open ∙ Word Count;; 706 ∙ Notes;; I suck at "open" threads. I'm sorry! ∙ Ceridwen King made her way down to the potions dungeon at a leisurely pace, not in any way excited for the class. It was her least favorite subject, and if it hadn't been a necessity for most decent wizarding professions, then she would not have continued it after her fifth year. It wasn't that she was bad subject, because she wasn't, but she couldn't quite say that she was good either. She was decent at them, adept enough to pass her O.W.L.s with above average scores, and that was good enough for her. She didn't care if she got every single potion correctly committed to memory, or how crushed dragon's scale and lavender reacted to each other if not prepared perfectly. It had interest to her, whatsoever.
Sighing as she pulled open the large, heavy door, she walked into the room, looking around for an empty seat near someone she knew. Of course, being the last student to arrive didn't help that matter much as she chose the last empty seat near the middle of the room. At least she wasn't late. With a quick half grin at the professor, she got herself situated in her seat, not bothering to say hello to whoever she was sat next to. Her eyes quickly scanned the chalk board at the front of the room, rolling them in annoyance at the topic and barely managing to hold in the groan that threatened to escape her lips. She was certain they had learned this last year! Resisting the urge to glare at her book, she opened it to the assigned page and began to take notes. Another day wasted!
It wasn't long, however, before her mind began to wander off with the boredom which had seemed to consume her. She could hear the professor droning on and on about the proper this and the warnings of doing something wrong, but she couldn't make herself focus; it had been a long, boring day. The inevitable subject crossed her mind: her match. It seemed as though everyone around her had been matched, some a few years ago and some just recently, but it was still a foreign concept. An irritating one too. Why the hell should she just fall for someone because Cupid got bored? Hadn't arranged marriages been done away with a century or two ago? Ceri couldn't stand the thought of her free will being taken away, especially as something as big as her love life. That was, after all, a large part of her future. Not to mention, who would it be? Her chin rested on her palm, her elbow on the table as she ceased to even fake writing down information on her parchment. Over the many years, she'd amused the thought that she would get paired with a boy she fancied, but luckily, Cupid had never heard those thoughts and acted on them. Big mistake that would have been, with all of them. But now that she was free, it worried her even more.
"Ceridwen." The professor said rather sternly, staring down at her and snapping her back into reality. Shit. Her eyes back into the professor's evenly, unafraid of the possible detention she might receive. "Yes, Professor?" Ceri smiled upward, acting as though nothing was out of the ordinary. "Care to match up with a partner like the rest of the class?" Gritting her teeth with a fake grin on her face as she heard a few snickers from behind her, she nodded quickly glancing around to see if there was anyone without a partner. One person left. Quickly she got up and moved over to their table, "Hey.

Slumped over in a stance that was never a look Edward had. Even in the midst of a point taken off an exam or someone arguing with him Edward never found himself defeated. He often could find ways out of everything. If he was marked down a point on his exam, he would talk to the Professor and the Professor would realize the error inside their mistake. And even if it was Edward’s fault (which Edward would never admit) the Professor would just end up giving him the one hundred percent because nobody liked to deal with an Edward argument because he would go on for ages. And in arguments people just usually gave up because Edward was reluctant. He used big words and often confused people and even if they understood, it really was pointless to argue with the young Ravenclaw because he had a huge power role in the school. Being the head boy had its rewards.
But now he felt defeated. Cupid was the one person that had a lot of control over Edward. Edward could not do anything about his damn match. If he were to do something, he would just face the chance of being killed. He hated to accept this fact but as the days grew longer and passed on, he realized he really was stuck with that pathetic girl that went by the name of Gweneth Stewart. He was finally giving up on all the research he had done on Cupid. Every little bit of research he had done just always ended in the same ending and that was that if anyone tried to question Cupid they were just killed. He had it in his head for the longest time that death was better than being matched to Gweneth Stewart but in actuality, Edward was just as afraid of Cupid as everyone else…
He just wished Cupid had done some of his own research before pairing Edward with that Gweneth Stewart. Then maybe he would see that he made a mistake and Edward was really supposed to be with a beautiful Ravenclaw girl. But Edward figured he could just live the rest of his life pretending he was never matched up. Gweneth Stewart could go her way and he could go his. The only way they really faced death was if they tried hooking up with someone else, so there was no harm in just being by himself for the rest of his life, now was there?
It was his first week back in potions class after being paired with his match and he was dreading it. This used to be his favorite class. The Professor was the Ravenclaw’s head of house and he always was answering questions. But now…
Now he was really not wanting to be in this class at all. As he walked in, he took his normal seat at the front and glared daggers at all of the Gryffindors. Before it had been easy for him to just ignore them but now after he was paired with one of their fellow housemates he did not want to even have to share a room with them. He really loathed each and every one now.
Edward was so lost inside his thoughts he had not even been paying attention inside the classroom. Which was also a first for him. Usually he would make eye contact with a fellow Ravenclaw whenever they needed a partner just to let them know he was with them. They never knew how to fully turn him down so they just accepted him as their partner. But today he hadn’t even had the chance and everyone was already paired up before he could snatch a Ravenclaw up… which left the last remaining partnership to be him and a ….
“ You have got to be kidding me…” he moaned out, eyes darting over to Ceridwen King. “ Can I not get away from you people!” he let out in a very over exaggerated tone.

∙ Tag;; edward ∙ Word Count;; 570 ∙ ∙ Notes;; Sorry about the suckiness of this post. It'll get better once I get back into her head.∙ Despite the fact that her partner was a rather rude and ego-maniacal Ravenclaw, Ceridwen found herself amused at his reaction. Perhaps even more so because she assumed she knew the reason: his match. Heaven forbid he should be matched with a Gryffindor, and even worse for him that it was her best friend. Really, the boy needed a serious attitude adjustment and Gwen was just the person who should give it to him. "You have got to be kidding me… Can I not get away from you people!" She heard him exasperatedly exclaim as she took the seat next to him. Being as she'd been in classes with the bloody prat for the past six years of schooling, she knew which ways worked best to annoy him. It was pointless to argue with him, but it was always enjoyable to heckle him. "'Fraid not." she said with a grin, scooting her chair just the tiniest bit closer to him as she adjusted her position. It wasn't that she wanted to be closer to him, because she definitely did not. No, it was done in a way to suggest that he was, indeed, stuck with her for his partner...her of all people. The thought brought about an immediate smirk to her face.
Perhaps if she'd paid more attention to the professor rather than her own musings, she'd have known what the assignment was. But then, perhaps she'd have gotten a better partner as well. Obviously the notes on the board weren't meant for her class, or else they wouldn't be pairing off to do...something. The other students quickly began scuffling around to get and prepare the ingredients, leaving her feeling like a dunce. "So what're we making today?
" She asked him with a sickly sweet smile, acting as though she shouldn't already know. Of course Ceri didn't expect him to believe her ruse; More than anything it would just irritate him more that he was stuck with an 'incompetent' Gryffindor, of all people. " I'll set up. Go get the supplies." It was meant to be a bit of a question, but of course it hadn't come out that way. Hopefully, he'd feel no choice but to go get what they needed, even if the only reason was that it provided him with a chance to get away from her. But, knowing him, it was more than likely that they'd have some sort of stare-down before hand. She highly doubted that he, being as insufferable as he was, would allow her to give the orders and be in control of their "partnership". She gave him another smile intended to irritate him then, before moving off to set up their cauldron and put everything in place, leaving him no choice but to get what they needed. At least class would be amusing today.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
